The Little Havens Bike Ride is a special event, supported for many years by Chelmer CC. All the money raised goes to a very important cause, the Little Havens Children's Hospice. Little Havens care for children and their families affected by life threatening and life limiting illnesses. Little Havens’ care is free to those who need it, but annual running costs are in the region of £1.4m per annum. This unique and valuable facility relies upon the generosity of public support, without which we could not offer the care and dedication these children deserve. To learn more about the Hospice log on to www.havenshospices.org.uk Last year 600 riders took part and raised just over £17,000. There will be 10, 25 and 50 mile events. The ten is particularly suited to young families and beginners, being mostly on cycle paths. The 25 and 50 are mostly on quiet country lanes visiting pretty Essex villages. More details of the events are on the entry form. (see link) This year's event is sponsored by M & G Investments and is also supported by Anglia Ruskin University where the start takes place and there will be ample parking for riders who need it. Food and drinks will be available before and after the ride from the University Refectory. There will also be a number of other events associated with the Bike Ride, promoting and supplementing it. The Chelmer Cycling Club's 'Family Rides' starting from our clubroom at 1.00pm on Saturday afternoons will be open to 'all-comers'
Full details of this year's event are on the entry leaflet, which will be available shortly format from the links below:-
